German Shepherd
The story of “Daddy” beautiful German Shepherd abandoned in French Cul de Sac…
On a Wednesday afternoon, an unconditional animal lover “Christine” called me to say that in French Cul de Sac a Pure breed German Shepherd had been abandoned since 1 month by some “metropolitans”. She asked if I could do something for this dog, so after work I made a little stop to check it out and saw that that the dog was waiting very anxiously for his owners.
When I approached him and said: “Hi honey, would you like to come with me?” he jumped without any hesitation in the car (it looks like he's very fond of cars) and so it was that we drove home together, where I’ve put him in a pen specially built for this kind of dramas and explained him that I will take care of him and find him a nice owner for the future, (having already lots of abandoned animals in my yard, I could not keep him, as much as I would have loved to). Upon nourishing him, I decided to use my sources and started calling Animals R Friends (Isa) to inform her of my latest founding. Isa immediately called Lisette, the adoption coordinator, who luckily knew somebody who would loved to have a German Shepherd. Great!! ![]()
I went back to the pen, “No more dog!” He had jumped a 1m50 high fence ... Panic all over... I took my car (at 8 o’clock on a dark evening) and was pretty scared because if I would not find “Daddy” now, I feared I would never find him again. I saw him running down the road, direction French Cul de Sac, probably he was heading back to the same spot where he was left by his owner and where he was determined to wait “dutifully” for his owner. I stopped the car and I told him: ”Daddy, come here, don’t run away honey, I only want to help you”, Daddy jumped back in my car, happy that somebody recognized him. I brought him back and tied him up (I had no choice.) In the meantime I got a call from Lisette who told me, she would come over with the gentlemen who was interested in adopting the dog. They arrived @ 9 o’clock and he immediately fell in love with “Daddy”. What a Jackpot!
They are the happy owners of some Jack Russels and everything went fine, the Jack Russels accepted him. They have a Daddy now and probably he got a new name, because” Daddy” sounds old, but when I met the dog, he was so skinny and looked so old that this name came automatically.
Good news, according to the veterinarian our “Daddy” would only be 3 years old, but he suffered from tick fever, which did not come as a surprise since he was covered with ticks. The most important things is our “Daddy” is happy with his new owners and his Jack Russell friends with whom he can play, I wonder …maybe they changed his name into “Junior”!!
This is the happy ending of an abandoned pure breed German Shepherd…….
